The Gemini Project is an upcoming superhero movie, produced by Legendary Pictures. The film follows a group of college students who gain superpowers after they are exposed to toxic radiation. How will Hollywood incorporate CGI and computer-generated imagery in the future?

In this update from the Gemini Project, Frank Parker Jr. brings us up to date with a video interview of his company’s progress and future plans for their project. From discussing investment opportunities in crypto assets, to marketing strategies on how they plan on reaching out to new users through traditional media outlets such as television networks and radio stations, the Gemini Project is going big into blockchain gaming!

In the video interview, Frank Parker Jr. talks about how long interviews last and what he does as a writer.

Commodore Sam Grissom and Actor FRANK PARKER, JR. have been reported as casualties.

They aren’t casualties, to be clear. They’re… Add them to the “missing” list.

That was how it appeared in 2016. Frank Parker, Jr. had established himself as a well-known figure in the fan film world. After making an appearance in THE ROMULAN WARS fan series in 2012, he went on to assist in the construction of sets for both STARSHIP FARRAGUT and STAR TREK CONTINUES. In reality, Frank made a cameo appearance in Farragut’s final episode, “The Crossing.”

Frank was most known for the premiere of DREADNOUGHT DOMINION, a new fan series shot on the Farragut/STC sets in Kingsland, GA. Frank portrayed the namesake starship’s Commodore Sam Grissom, who was as bald as Jean-Luc Picard and had a rough background. With Frank as showrunner, two episodes, “Haunted” and “Anchors Aweigh,” looked to be another great contribution to the realm of Star Trek fan films. But suddenly, apparently without notice, Frank vanished from the fan film community! POOF!!!

Dreadnought Dominion, fortunately, found a way to continue without its primary actor and inventor. The series was taken up by GARY DAVIS and RANDY WRENN, who released almost a dozen follow-up episodes, including a crossover with STARSHIP VALIANT titled “Chain of Command,” which dealt with the consequences of Commodore Grissom’s abrupt departure.

Let’s fast forward five years to the beginning of 2021.

Frank returned in the Star Trek fan film community nearly as suddenly as he vanished, almost as if he’d just beamed down someplace and beamed back half a decade later. Despite the fact that Dreadnought Dominion had gone on, Frank returned in an episode named “The Passenger with Baggage” to tie up many loose ends and provide closure to most of the characters, including himself.

Frank’s homecoming, however, did not end there. Frank has subsequently created an alliance with VANCE MAJOR of the MINARD and CONSTAR saga of fan films, collaborating on many fan films with Frank’s FILK FERRET PRODUCTIONS and Vance’s NO BUDGET PRODUCTIONS. For CONSTAR COMPLETED episodes broadcast between March and June of this year, they have included:

Sam Grissom also had a cameo appearance in the parallel 24th century timeline fan film WASTELAND, which was released in March. A Kelvin timeline version of Sam Grissom also appears in the 47-minute MINARD 2: HEMORRHAGE, which was published in June, and the current Dominion/Constar crossover fan film CALM, COOL, & COLLECTED, which was released in July.

Whew!

Frank and Vance put together a “highlight reel” named THE STORY SO FAR – GRISSOM ADVENTURES if you don’t want to see everything. It functions as a user primer…

What is a primer for, you may wonder?

Even after Frank Parker, Jr. had made peace with his old Dreadnought Dominion pals and featured in a number of Constar episodes and other projects, he still couldn’t get Star Trek fan films out of his system. In reality, it’s the polar opposite!

Frank’s love for fan filmmaking had grown stronger during his absence, and after a five-year “sabbatical,” he decided to debut his second fan series, a fresh new collection of tales set on board the brand new Gemini-class starship, the USS Harrison.

CROSSROADS – PROJECT GEMINI, a new fan series, premiered in May with the pilot episode “The Gemini Project.” Have a peek…

But hold on, there’s more! Frank has joined up with Vance (and a number of other people from all over the world) to start CRITICAL, NOT CYNICAL, a weekly video podcast that has now aired over 25 live episodes ranging in duration from one to two hours each! The podcast examines fan films critically, but with an emphasis on constructive rather than negative commentary.

Because the individuals who make fan films usually don’t have the money or expertise to create Hollywood-quality movies, it’s simple to insult and rip them apart. We do what we do because we love it, and such commitment and enthusiasm should never be disparaged. Instead, this program treats each fan production with decency and respect, focusing only on how the creators may better their future attempts. JOSH IRWIN and I were asked to join when Frank and Vance evaluated INTERLUDE, and we gladly accepted.

Okay, that was a bit of a ramble, but Frank Parker, Jr. is a guy who deserves to be introduced. And now that we have a solid understanding of who he is, let’s spend some time getting to know Frank a little better and learn why he took a five-year hiatus from fan videos and, more significantly, what prompted him to return. Oh, and if you watch the video interview below, be sure to stay for the portion where Frank speaks about ALL of his Star Trek outfits and costumes, which spans from 43 minutes to 57 minutes. Believe me when I say that the number of them he possesses will astound you…
